I was taught and once believed that the church (institution) was the answer to our fallen world. So I would passionately invite those around me to services or events organised by the church.

And I even wanted to plant churches (to multiply more buildings/institutions).

Today after understanding kingdom from the Gospel, I’m convinced that the institutional church is not the answer. There can only be one answer and that’s Jesus (and His kingdom).

Each of us carry the answer wherever we go in this fallen world. So we shouldn’t reach out to invite but reach out to show His power and love. And we don’t plant churches, but we plant the seed of the Gospel (to multiply lives/disciples).

Let’s follow the Christ, and stop following the crowd. We are the Church (ekklesia), let’s be the Church!
