  1. Hey there!

It’s been ages since I’ve had the chance to bother you.

But I’m sure you’re insanely busy at work.
Met up with the ladies a few weeks ago, and I’ve been told a few hilarious stories about your boss, who I hear is suppose to leave soon?

Take heart! I’m sure you’re able to handle the workload.

And when you can’t take it, I give you permission to take the time out to call someone and rant. Just.. er.. I… er… lost my phone. (hastily covers phone under bed covers)…

    So yeah. >_0

  2. Andrew Ong is a great guy. Knew him since 7 years ago and his consistency in character and faith has blessed me much and inspired me to keep the fire going.

He is a faithful friend, very loyal and caring. Genuinely wanting to see others succeed and doing his best for those around him.

Way to go Andrew, you are an inspiration! =)

  3. Good missions you have there! Really…how many of us really write down our missions like that? I think I should start doing so too! Whether people believe my intentions is another matter. 🙂

    God bless u Andrew!

  4. Hey Andrew,
Let’s talk about Being “Proactive” today, shall we?
From my teenage “bible” more than 2 decades ago.

That’s Habit #1 of Stephen Covey’s uber-best selling book, “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People.”

In short, to be proactive simply means to be “response-able”—to be capable of consciously choosing how you respond to any given situation. Are you a Pavlovian dog—mindlessly responding to a given stimulus in your life?

Can you step BETWEEN the normal stimulus –> response patterns of your life and CHOOSE a new response to a given stimulus?

How can you be more proactive and less reactive today?

Let’s be proactive. Let’s be response-able to the challenges we face in our lives.

One more thing: How’s your language?

According to Covey, a reactive person says things like, “There’s nothing I can do.” Or “That’s just the way I am.”

A proactive person, on the other hand, likes to say things like, “Let’s look at our alternatives.” And, “I can choose a different approach.”

Watch your language. Are you being a reactive victim or a proactive creator of your life?

It’s very (!) important you consciously make that decision.

Is there something missing above? where’s GOD in the whole picture ???

1Ti 5:5 The widow who is really in need and left all alone puts her hope in God and continues night and day to Pray and to Ask GOD for help.

  5. joe:

To your question, “Is there something missing above? where’s GOD in the whole picture ???”

Must the God be explicitly mentioned then it can be fully approved as spiritual or God’s will?

This may be shocking to you but the book of Song of Songs has not one word of God printed or mentioned in it. So why was it canonized and included in our Holy Bible?

Where is God in the whole picture of this book of Song of Songs?

  6. Andrew:
Isn’t Song of Songs a love song between God and His people, the Israelites or between Christ and the Christian church?
It is not wise to compare a book written by ideas of man(dust) with the scripture, given by the inspiration of Almighty GOD(Creator).

Songs2.1 I am a rose of Sharon, a lily of the valleys.
2 Like a lily among thorns is my darling among the maidens.

It is a son, an Epithalamium, or nuptial song, wherein, by the expressions of love between a bridegroom and his bride, are set forth and illustrated the mutual affections that pass between God and a distinguished remnant of mankind. It is a pastoral; the bride and bridegroom, for the more lively representation of humility and innocence, are brought in as a shepherd and his shepherdess.

Now, This song might easily be taken in a spiritual sense by the Jewish church, for whose use it was first composed, and was so taken, as appears by the Chaldee-Paraphrase and the most ancient Jewish expositors. God betrothed the people of Israel to himself; he entered into covenant with them, and it was a marriage-covenant. He had given abundant proofs of his love to them, and required of them that they should love him with all their heart and soul. Idolatry was often spoken of as spiritual adultery, and doting upon idols, to prevent which this song was penned, representing the complacency which God took in Israel and which Israel ought to take in God, and encouraging them to continue faithful to him, though he might seem sometimes to withdraw and hide himself from them, and to wait for the further manifestation of himself in the promised Messiah.

But more frequently is Christ represented as the bridegroom of his church (Mt. 25:1; Rom. 7:4; 2 Co. 11:2; Eph. 5:32), and the church as the bride, the Lamb’s wife, Rev. 19:7; 21:2, 9.

  7. joe:

I believe because it was included in the bible, that’s why you automatically brought it in parallel with God and His people.

If it wasn’t canonized, would you have recognised and acknowledged this as a spiritual or a God-inspired book?

Cos apart from God not being mentioned in it, it is written by a filthy rich and an adulterous person who had 900 wives without including his concubines. And the only prevailing theme (in a glance) seems to be about lust and sex.

But I believe this book was canonised because it was studied through the lens of grace and truth (where the Holy Spirit relishes in and is able to move freely), and not through lens of the law.

  9. andrew,
Song of Songs was written by the wisest man on Earth, who fell from grace & truth despite being blessed with immense riches, wisdom & power from God because he didnt obey one single law from the Almighty GOd.

They were from nations about which the LORD had told the Israelites, “You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. 1Kings11.2

It’s a good reminder to our Ladiocean Age. Can we say we believe in Jesus but dont obey His Word?

No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.Mat6.24 NIV

Andrew, can you choose to serve GOd & Money,
    or GOd & man,
    or God & democracy?

  10. “I aim to gain financial independence over time by avoiding consumer debts by spending less than what I earn and regularly saving/investing part of my income
I’ll use what money and talents I have to make life enjoyable and meaningful for others through services and charitable giving.”
    very smart way :))
