Off to Melaka

Taking off to Melaka over this weekend for my grandma’s birthday. Really looking forward to catching up with my cousins and catching up with God too.

This trip is a good personal retreat to sort some of my thoughts out and to regain His power in me. Need a re-charge. Please pray for me, I need a still heart. Thx!

GST: God-Sent-Token

I opened the letter box and received a pleasant surprise which I believe most of you had.

What was it?? The GST offset package.

This couldn’t have come at a better time to offset some bills. Ha ha…

It is really a “God-Sent-Token” offset package =p

Breakthrough Clip

Breakthrough campaign is coming to a closure soon at the end of this month. Latest I heard was we were down to the last $60K.

Let’s await for the good news in 3 days time!

But while waiting for the outcome, enjoy this is the pirated version of the Breakthrough clip that was shown during one of the services. Oops… =p

A great and hilarious clip put together that brought us through the journey that God has led us to Nexus!

Be patient as it might take awhile to load.

Do make a guess who was the voice-over in the clip. Hee hee…

An encouragement

I received this sms a couple days back.

“Hi hi, hehe, XXXXX just called me after I msged her. She said she sold off her Sunday slots (work duty) realising she’s drifted far. And she will come to church this Sunday”

Wow… it is people’s response to Him like this one that truly encourages me to press on in serving our wonderful Father and in finishing the race ahead.

Some of my Dreams…

I was compiling a list of things that I labelled as Dreams which I hope to achieve in my life-time.

They are:

  1. Watch a ‘live’ match at The Theatre of Dreams, Old Trafford- Home of the Red Devils
  2. Swim to Malaysia from Singapore
  3. Doing a Masters or MBA
  4. Setting up a global foundation to raise fund to champion charitable causes
  5. Running an organisation in leadership development to shape the future
  6. Visit Jerusalem where Jesus walked
  7. Have a talk show like Oprah or Tyra Banks that serves as a ‘voice’, ‘comforter’ and ‘role model’ for the masses
  8. Publishing own magazines and self-authored books to communicate and impact lives
  9. Creating a personal online portal to reach and influence the world
  10. A 2nd chance in building a business system
  11. Being able to serve His Church full-time without needing to be placed on a payroll
  12. To witness Man United lift up the EPL Champions Cup this season! =p

I am back!

Yes! I am back from my ‘hiatus’ with the Singapore Acting (wayang) Force (SAF)… Ho ho ho…

Overall, reservist was a good therapy away from urban living and getting detached from technology especially blogging. Ha ha…

And it allowed me to have a good rest and served many opportunities to know my camp mates better.

Now in my 10th year since I ORD-ed (operational release date) from my active NS days, I did a quick observation on some of the things that remained unchanged like…

They are things like:

  • The poor communication from top-down
  • The free-flowing usage of vulgarities
  • The ‘chao keng’ (malingering) antics by soldiers
  • The wayang-ness of every training and programme
  • The waste of human resources, talents, time and food

However, I also had observed the things that has changed:

  1. My body-aches after a 6-day outfield exercise
  2. I look forward to eating at the camp cookhouse (now food is outsourced)
  3. The commanders do not ask me to ‘down 20’ (push ups)
  4. In camp, we sleep on spring mattresses and not on a slab of sponge
  5. AND I can no longer fully button up my army slacks

Picture for reference below, but not for the weak stomach =p

Off to reservist

I’ve packed my barang-barang (stuff in Malay) and will be off for reservist for 2 weeks. So would not be able to blog… =(

Si Beh Sianz (Damn boring) with all this wayang (show)…. Ha ha ha

How can the gahmen expect men who are in their late 20’s or 30’s to take off from work and family commitments just like that??

Would the part-time soldier be able to focus on training or even combat battle with his core responsibilities looming over his mind??

And worse, we are not even fit from all the sitting behind the computer!

I say scrap reservist!!! It is in-effective… Who’s with me??? =p

Time really flies…

I was scavanging thru my stuff and found this…

It was a booklet given out during Hope Church 13th Anniversary. Kingdom 2008 was launched in 2004, some 3 years ago…

Wow… can’t believe we are now in 2007 and arriving towards our goal as a church in focusing on:

  1. Growing disciples
  2. Serving Society
  3. Planting churches

Time really flies…
