Learning from Lee Kuan Yew

“If Singapore is a nanny state, then I am proud to have fostered one.” ~ former Prime Minister of Singapore, Lee Kuan Yew⁣⁣

Whatever decisions a leader makes or a path he takes, there will always be critics and naysayers. You just have to weigh the pros and cons of any decision (using as much objectivity, empathy and open-mindedness), and go for it, and stand by it in the face of adversity. ⁣⁣
⁣⁣
That was how #LKY led. Many may not liked him, but many respected him. He was ruthless, decisive, relentless and visionary. And he stood by his every decision, even those that were wrong.⁣
⁣⁣
It’s been 5 years since his passing and his has been a big shoes to fill for Singapore. I respect him for his life ambition and commitment as a statesman to build Singapore throughout his lifetime. Never resting till his deathbed.⁣⁣
⁣⁣
I think we as Christ followers should learn from him in this aspect in making it our life ambition and commitment to build and advance God’s kingdom in our lifetime.

Are we just in for the opportunities (what we term as ‘blessings’) or in it for the whole ride in following Christ till the end (even if there are no ‘blessings’)? ⁣

Acts 13:36
“Now when David had served God’s purpose in his own generation, he fell asleep; he was buried with his ancestors and his body decayed.
