HSBC Treetop Walk

Last Saturday was my first time as a Singaporean to visit MacRitchie reservoir. But I am sure I am not alone. Ha ha…

With our foreign visitors in tow, we trudged along the 5km trail which led to the HSBC treetop walk. Btw, HSBC means holy shit bloody ‘chow’!

Ha ha… just kidding but that was what most of us were thinking as we walk, walk, walk and walk….

We walked until we finally reached the HSBC treetop bridge. And there was where I really said sibeh chow

……….

……

Really felt cheated after walking so much for this treetop walk which promised a 2km scenic walk. It reality I think it was 500 metres only. The other 1.5km must be for the flight of steps to enter and to exit that place.

But it did kept one promise: We really saw alot of treetops. KNS lor… =p

After that, it was another long walk for us to civilisation. Though disppointed with the treetop walk part, but the long walk was a nice way of relaxing with nature. I like.

My old school mates

Met up with my old primary school mates some time back to celebrate a classmate’s twins’ 1 year birthday.

It was really a feeling of some kind to see my old mates after 20 years with their entourage in tow. Ha ha…

Here was the first entourage…

Qiuwei with her hubby and two bubbly boys. Talked about being surrounded by men =p

And no, you’re not seeing double here… These cute little ‘meaty’ ones are twins- Charlotte and Claris!

Lastly, for old time’s sake… my OLD school mates. Ha ha…

Making a difference!

Thanks to a fellow blogger, Tiger I present to you this heartwarming and inspiring clip of our brothers and sisters-in-Christ spreading His love in Peru.

This was aired last week on Channel U.

Those bored with life should see this. Maybe it might give you an idea how to use your life meaningfully =)

Enjoy!

Fun in Sentosa

I was delighted when one of my GLK buddies agreed to join me to Sentosa on Good Friday.  We go way back man…  10-15 years?

I believe somehow working life has done him some good as I’ve observed that he is more open to making new friends. Christians included =p

We went for the Imbiah skyride and luge. The skyride is a must-try for everyone!

Sentosa is really transforming fast and developing into a great hangout with beautiful people, facilities and scenery.

Errr… of cos except for those sights of oil tankers and ships that are an eye-sore.

300

Oops! It was not 300 but 300-298= 2 of us that went home painting last weekend… Ho ho ho…

The two of us were painting Nic’s new home and it was a tiring, not too mentioned dirty as well… I got myself all splattered with paint, including my face.

We took a makan break in the midst of painting and my dear friend, Nic was so kind enough not to tell me about the abstracts of art on my face. It took me some time before I realised something was amissed as I noticed people staring at me.

I some more thought people mistook me for some celebrity… Bloody hell… ha ha… And Nic was just laughing away… KNS!

Anyway here’s one for you brother! =P

But about the movie 300. I saw it last week…

A question to me: “What would you do if you were the Spartan king (Leonidas)? Surrender and save your life or fight on and die?”

My reply: “I will fight on and die. Cos that would be what I would be prepared to do since I decided to go to battle. If go, go all the way.”

“Suppose one of you wants to build a tower. Will he not first sit down and estimate the cost to see if he has enough money to complete it? For if he lays the foundation and is not able to finish it, everyone who sees it will ridicule him, saying, ‘This fellow began to build and was not able to finish.’

“Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Will he not first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace. In the same way, any of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be my disciple.”

Luke 14:28-33 (NIV)

Just some visitations

I was fortunate enough to have some time today in the afternoon after my interviews to visit some friends who needed some attention.

First was a trip to Alexandra Hospital…

Actually he quite poor thing as he spent his CNY hospitalised as his dunno-what was removed due to infection. Guess you can find out soon in his blog as he would be discharged tomorrow.

Get well soon bro! You are dearly missed by your fans, especially the ladies =p

Then the next was a trip to visit a bundle of joy….

Meet baby Gabriel. Newborn son of Nicodemus and Diane.

Awww….. So cute rite? And so tiny too =)

Looks like this boy could be Singapore’s answer for a David Beckham….

See the similarities??? =p

My V-Day with Friends

Spent V-Day with a great bunch of people that makes up part of our globe.

There’s a sweet couple from Sweden, a birthday girl from Germany and a cool guy from China. And how can I forget a babe from Malaysia =p

Well that’s what love is all about… treasuring all those that God places around us! =)

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that He lay down his life for his friends”

John 15:12-13 (NIV)

And in case you are wondering who’s the handsome ang-mo who is even more good-looking than David Beckham, his name is Christer and he is married.

Sorry ladies, this lad is taken. Ho ho ho… =p

How I spent Christmas- FINAL part

Finally the last day and the day of celebration…

25th December

1:00pm

A nice delightful ‘reunion’ time with NG5A3 at Apple’s place.

6:00pm

Had some family time at my dad.

10:00pm

Last stop was at my old buddy’s place and where I had some play tine with his kid, Wayne.

Phew… that was how Christmas was spent this year, with close people that matters to me =)

How I spent Christmas- Part 2

24th December

10:00am

Got up early in the morning with much enthusiasm as I was expecting my two nieces to attend Hope Kids. But alas, they didn’t cos they couldn’t wake up. Now must wait till next Christmas =(

Nevertheless I managed to catch the drama which I missed during Saturday’s service.

12:00pm

Since my nieces were still in bed, I decided to visit them and surprise them with their Christmas gifts. Managed also to have a hearty lunch with my brother =)

4:00pm

Paid a short visit to another Peter. But this one is Peter Ong who fractured his ankle in a freak accident while playing soccer.

Poor guy had to be stuck at home with his leg casted over the holidays. Get well soon bro…

6:00pm

Christmas eve was spent at Keng Suan’s house where we had a simple and cosy affair of eatingand watching TV. And we did a crazy thing as well… we decided to spread the Christmas spirit to her neighbours with carolling.

And we did!

How I spent Christmas- Part 1

Here’s are quick snapshots of how I had celebrated a white wet Christmas over the weekend…

23rd December

12:00pm

Met Peter Yang for a Japanese lunch at Clementi’s Sumo House. And we were unexpectedly visited by a little chap.

Just a little intro on Peter…

He’s from Shanghai, China and one of those foreign talents that our government is encouraging us to welcome and he presently works at PWC. See, even the little chap welcomes him =p

Honestly, I really like this guy. He is one of those rare ones that I can openly exchange ideas and opinions with almost any kind of topic. He is really likeable lor… and most of it is cos he has carries absolutely no airs.

3:00pm

Rushed to NUH there after to join the Healthcare Christian Fellowship to add a cheer to the patients at the National University Hospital (NUH) by singing carols

But before that, we gathered to worship. It was also one of those rare and beautiful moments where I found myself worshipping with Christians from other churches.

I pray that as His Church, we can do better in the Unity department as the Church has been marred enough by division which has greatly weakened our influence in the world.

And it is even ridulous considering that we are preaching to others about God’s love when we ourselves are fighting among each other. Haiz…

So I greatly treasured that moment of worship and carolling as we put aside any differences and focused on serving together to show love and care to the people in need.

6:00pm

After carolling, I returned back home to place my guitar and was off to Toa Payoh to fetch an old friend, Vincent to attend our Christmas service.

Another intro…

Vincent is partially visually-impaired. However he is an extremely independent guy. Talented too.

If you take the MRT, there’s a high chance you might run into him busking at the station. So please give generously if you see him as that is how he makes a living =)

7:30pm

Ya I was late for Christmas service and missed the drama. But it was exceptionally great to have new friends joining us in the Christmas celebration.

10:00pm

After the service, all of us went to Cosy Bay (opposite the Kallang Indoor Stadium) which has one of the best relaxing ambience you can find in Singapore.
