Honor thy father and thy mother

Over the weekend I ended up in a squabble with my mum over the same nagging issues on our house chores. I hate cleaning up after the animals that my mum rears at home.

My home, it’s a mini-zoo and store house. I can clean the house, but the very next day it will be back to its original filthy state… *sianz*

I conveyed my happiness on the issue. She did the same, but her unhappiness is me.

I went out and as I walked I evaluated the situation and prayed for Holy Spirit to search my heart for any wrong in me. This commandment of God came to mind: Honor thy father and thy mother.

Haiz… at that point I knew that I had not been a good boy to God =p

Though I may have been right in what I said to my mother, but I had been rude and disrespectful in some ways with my spirit.

After an hour, I took the courage to face my wrong. I explained and apologised to my mum via sms. *Yeah!*

I “yeah!” cos this sort of situations are rare between my mum and me as we do not have this practice in communicating our feelings to one another. So its a breakthrough!

“Honor thy father and thy mother, as the LORD thy God hath commanded thee; that thy days may be prolonged, and that it may go well with thee, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee,”

Deuteronomy 5:16 (KJV)
