Have you ever loved and cared for someone before (or at present) and did things for that person of which he/she wasn’t aware at all?
Maybe he/she does know about your deeds, but takes you for granted, chose to ignore or might even not acknowledge you.
How does that make you feel?
For me, I know I was grieved, heart-wretched and devastated.
“He (Jesus Christ) was in the world, and though the world was made through him, the world did not recognize him. He came to that which was his own,but his own did not receive him.” John 1:10-11
This Christmas, I was blessed to catch a glimpse of the true state of God’s heart…
Beyond the facade of the celebrations, the merry carolling in the air, the dazzling lights and cheerful giving of presents, God is actually utterly grieved.
He is grieving because His children (lost and unlost) do not acknowledge Him. Even if we do, it is not a full acknowledgement based on who He is and what He has done for us on the cross.
However, his main sorrow is over the unsaved who has not received Christ as Saviour into their lives. The very reason of His birth was meant for us.
God loves us very much… (c.f. John 3:16) Even if there’s one person left unsaved, He grieves.
Every single person on the face of this earth matters greatly to Him.
